I’ve had many inexplicable and ridiculous crushes….but the one that stands out as most pathetic was a guy who lived a few blocks from me (in WeHo, of course)a few years ago. He was gorgeous, funny, gorgeous, lively, gorgeous, outgoing, gorgeous, charming and, as the Kelly Clarkson song says, a Beautiful Disaster. I never knew what he was doing with me because, in case you missed it, he was gorgeous. I’m a tall, skinny gay guy – not exactly drool bait in WeHo. Anyway, this guy would make plans with me at the last minute, show up hours late and sometimes not at all. We went out on his schedule, at his convenience and I happily went along. He didn’t have a real job and I would often get one of hour of sleep because his schedule was all over the place. Anyway, I’d never been co-dependent before and I sure as hell won’t do it again. It was an unfortunate and beautiful mistake that I won’t repeat. By the way, I only paid for dinner once!!
